Useful information

University of Thessaly

The University was founded in 1984 and was named after the region of Thessaly which has four prefectures that all host various Schools in the four main cities of the region. You can watch the short video for the University of Thessaly here. The symbol of the University is Centaurus, the mythic symbol of the mount Pelion which overlooks the harbor and the city of Volos. Centaurus believed as the symbol of freedom, kindness and strength in Ancient Greek mythology. The University is the third largest university in Greece with 8 Schools and 35 Academic Departments, offering 99 programmes of studies (undergraduate and postgraduate) in a variety of scientific fields (i.e. health science, engineering, education, humanities, agriculture, economics and business administration, sports, technology).

Conference will take place at the administrative building of the University of Thessaly (Papastratos Building) at the promenade of Volos

  • The modern Delmouzos Building with glass exterior surfaces, which comprises Lecture Halls, the large Kordatos Auditorium and the smaller one Saratsis Auditorium, the University Ballroom, the Network Operation Center, the Foreign Languages Office and the Physical Education.
